Product information "wooden music box rocking horse"
The "Music Box Rocking Horse Karusellwalzer" is a delightful piece of Erzgebirge folk art. By turning the crank, a wire and quills inside the box create a tinkling sound. This charming item is a predecessor to the modern music box, with its origins dating back to around 1800 in Seiffen. Over time, mechanical movements replaced the tinkling, marking the birth of music boxes in the Erzgebirge region. Today, these music boxes are crafted in a wide variety with wind-up mechanisms.
